Future students have recognized the quality ITS courses, as the number of applicants has greatly exceeded the number of admissions. Due to the number of applicants, ITS is still the only higher education institution in Serbia with an eliminatory entrance exam, which shows the level of trust we have built in previous years. This year, most candidates have applied for the Information Technology and Computer Multimedia courses, although Information Systems and Electronic Business also generated great interest among the students.
Creative problem solving
Depending on the academic program, the exam includes computer technology and English language tests, as well as a practical test designed to show the candidates’ creative and problem solving skills.
According to Ivan Anić, professor of mathematics at ITS, the concept of the entrance exam is to test creative and problem-solving skills. The candidates solve practical problems by applying mathematical models in a manner that is completely different to those in other schools.
More and more girls opt for IT
Each year sees an increase in the number of girls enrolling at ITS, a fact that breaks down the prejudice that IT is a field dominated by men. Girls have become aware of their talents and abilities and the fact that they can be equally as successful in IT, and that in many areas they perform better than men. We often see women in leading positions in the IT industry.
Successful ITS students are an example and motivation for future students
Our successful students, who have found themselves in top IT positions and have started building a successful career in IT after graduating, are the greatest motivation to future students. This is the best indicator of the quality and range of skills acquired by each student. All of this gives us the right to expect top-notch results from each new class of students.
“We hope that this year, we will once again enroll the maximum number of students. In addition, there has been great interest for the master’s program this year, so we are expecting a new class of students there, as well”, said Svetlana Anđelić, Assistant Director for Teaching at ITS.
Year after year, ITS has been gaining the trust of future students on account of our internships and the employability and high salaries they can expect upon graduating, even though most of our students start their career during their studies. This means that admissions fill up quickly and waiting lists are formed at the beginning of the enrollment period. We are certain that we can expect yet another successful class of IT experts, future leaders in the IT industry.
