The Web of Science is the most reliable independent global citation database that provides reference data and citations from academic journals, documents and other verified papers. It is a unique and extremely useful platform suitable for research and accessing numerous scientific journals and proceedings from international conferences, book data and other academic documents from a variety of scientific disciplines.
Millions of researchers and over 9,000 renowned scientific, corporate and government institutions use the Web of Science and its numerous options to conduct research based on reliable and verified information. Some of the users of the WOS platform include members of the Ivy League, AAU (Association of America Universities), such as Harvard, Stanford, Berklee, Columbia University and others, as well as companies from the prestigious Fortune 500 list, and last but not least, LINK Edu Alliance institutions.
Scientific publications as a valuable source of knowledge
Journals categorized by the Web of Science, which form the reference basis of this platform, are among the most prestigious and renowned publications in their scientific categories, and belong to the so-called SCI list.
Publishing papers in such journals is one of the obligations of university professors and scientific researchers, because it enables them to expand their knowledge and advance professionally. It is also the requirement for doctoral students in order to acquire the PhD title. It should be noted that educational institutions whose teachers and researchers publish in journals from the Web of Science list obtain accreditations for their study programs and institutions more easily.
One of the benefits – unlimited opportunities for development
The three-year contract signed by the LINK edu Alliance and Clarivate, owner of the Web of Science, provides LEA teachers, associates and students with equal opportunities for professional development and advancement.
Before this contract was signed, only public universities, faculties, institutes and colleges in Serbia and the region had access to the services and databases on the Web of Science platform, while private faculties, colleges and scientific institutions did not, which is why they had difficulties achieving a satisfactory quality of work and development.
The arrangement between the LINK edu Alliance and the Web of Science portal allows teachers of LEA institutions, including ITS teachers, to gain access to high-level scientific publications. In addition, it gives them the ability to prepare more engaging and diverse learning material in line with the latest scientific achievements that provides their students with the latest knowledge.
Thanks to the access to services and databases on the WOB platform, our academic youth gets a unique opportunity to conduct their research more thoroughly, which will directly impact the quality of scientific and professional papers in the future, and improve their individual development.
