Our students have once again shown that they are excellent athletes and that their interests surpass the world of IT. On Saturday, April 21st, ITS students traditionally took part in the Belgrade Marathon, one of the largest events of its kind. Nine ITS students participated in the 31st edition of the marathon.
– Despite the high temperatures, all of our students successfully completed the race. The fastest among them was Miloš Manojlović, who achieved a great result in the half marathon with a finishing time of 1 hour, 43 minutes. Right behind him, with a great finishing time of 1 hour, 46 minutes was last year’s winner among our students, Nikola Tokić. The only female student running the half marathon, Lena Vujović, completed the race in 2 hours, 50 minutes – said Nenad Vukadinović, the sports coordinator.
The following table shows a list of all the students who participated in the half marathon and their finishing times:
Miloš Manojlović: 1:43
Nikola Tokić: 1:46
Slaven Pavlekić: 2:03
Bojan Radovanović: 2:22
Filip Prokopić: 2:31

Great results of our students
A record number of 28,000 runners from 72 countries took part in the 31st edition of the Belgrade Marathon. Around 7,300 runners participated in the marathon and half marathon, and the starting line was in front of St. Mark’s Church. The 5k Fun Run included more than 20,000 recreational runners.
The promoter of the 31st edition of the Belgrade Marathon was former marathon record holder Khalid Khannouchi, who signaled the start of the race. After a number of years, first place was won by a Serbian contestant, Kristijan Stošić, with a finishing time of 2 hours, 44 minutes. The winner in the women’s competition was also a contestant from Serbia, Nora Trkulja, who completed the race in 3 hours, 8 minutes.
– This is a great achievement for me, my family and my club in Vranje. Three weeks ago I won the Jagodina Marathon, and two days ago my second daughter was born. I dedicate this victory to her – said Kristijan Stošić, the winner of the marathon.
First place in the half marathon went to Macedonian marathoner Dario Ivanovski, who completed the race in 1 hour, 8 minutes, setting a new record. An interesting fact is that the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra supported the marathoners from the New Belgrade side of the Ada Bridge.
Together with ITS students, ITHS students and sports coordinator Nenad Vukadinović also participated in the race. We congratulate everyone on their courage and stamina and hope ITS students will continue to achieve great results and foster a sporting spirit.
