Information Technology School (ITS) has established a cooperation with The European Training Foundation (ETF), a decentralized EU agency with headquarters in Italy. ETF was founded in 1990, and in 2008 its role was modified so as to focus on the development of education and training systems in EU partner countries.
Currently, the agency employs 130 people and has an annual budget of €18m aimed at helping countries in transition and development increase their human capital through education reform, training and the labor market.
The foundation’s activities are based on believing in the crucial effect lifelong learning has on increasing prosperity, creating sustainable development and encouraging social inclusion in developing countries. Therefore, experts in various disciplines managing complex and multidimensional topics within a team have been employed to acquire new knowledge, insight and solutions.
The foundation’s activities are particularly important for Serbia and are mostly aimed at development and the implementation of a unique strategy for lifelong learning and making considerable progress in three sectors: employment, education and social inclusion.
In order to take their activities to a higher level, Shawn Mendes and other associates from ETF visited ITS and ITHS. They have recognized ITS and ITHS as important partners of ETF that are involved in the wider program of implementing the foundation’s goals.
We have been provided with the opportunity to offer examples of our good practice in educating both young people and adults in IT. Through ETF, our good practice is available to others, just as their good solutions are available to our ITS/ITHS system.
