Course objective

The objective of this course is to introduce the students of applied studies to the theoretical and practical knowledge in project management as a specialized discipline of management.

Course outcome

At the end of the process of teaching this subject, when the students have fulfilled or their curricular and assessment obligations and passed the exam, the students are expected to have sound knowledge and understanding of the topics, i.e. be able to apply the acquired theoretical knowledge in practical project management, namely: analyze and conclude about the object of a project task; identify and define a project, i.e. differentiate between project activities and regular activities; structure and organize project management in each phase of the project; use the appropriate tools in project management.

  • The concept, types and characteristics of investment, business and social projects
  • Contemporary project management methodologies
  • Project management as a modern concept in work with projects
  • The basic functions of project management and the life cycle of a project
  • Project management organization – classical and contingency approach
  • Contemporary project management methods and techniques
  • Managing contracts in projects
  • HR management in projects and project teams
  • Managing quality, risk, communication and changes on a project
  • Planning the realization of a project – planning time, planning expenses and resources
  • Project realization monitoring and control – overseeing and controlling the time of project realization
  • Monitoring and controlling the resources and expenses of project realization
  • Project realization reporting system, closing the project, program manager and multi-project management
