Course objective
The purpose of practicum in organization management is to ensure that the students achieve the competences and practical knowledge for organizational design and change that would result in an organization that is competitive and viable in the long term, in the conditions of a global and dynamic environment. The goal is to become familiar with the elements of organization: the division of work, the distribution of decision-making authority, unit grouping, the number of hierarchical levels, the range of managerial control, coordination and various elements of organizational structure. The students will become acquainted with the reasons that lead to change within the organization, the content of organizational change, as well as the process of change itself, and the effect of ICT (information and communications technology) on organizational design and management.
Course outcome
Having passed this examination, the students will be ready for the practical application of the acquired and adopte knowledge from the theory and practice of organizational management. They will be able to define the types of organizational structures and design an adequate structure for any organization. They will be able to adjust their behavior to the context of the concrete organization and their role in the process of the organization’s activities and technology. They will be able to define the vision, mission and goal of the business system. They will be familiar with the parameters of organizational structure and their impact on the organization. The students will perceive the impact of ICT concepts on organizational design and management, as well as the advancement of methods and techniques characteristic for the new ICT approach.
