Course objective
The course Information System Design provides a comprehensive introduction to the entire process of information system design, from defining user requirements to functional process modeling. The course also covers the most important software tools for information system design.
Course outcome
The students will learn about the models of information system development life cycle, the basic principles of SSA, process decomposition, the connection between IDEFIX with extended ORM, relationship cardinality, user requirement analysis, the basic elements of UML, UML diagrama, general mechanisms of UML, use cases, actors and their identification, determining the system boundary, extension relationship, the characteristics of activity diagram, the characteristics of state diagram.

Practical classes:
- Practical work with computers includes interactive work with students. Students spend exercise classes working on concrete examples and solving tasks related to the course content, including drawing data flow diagrams and ER diagrams using MS Visio tool and drawing UML diagrams and solving concrete problems using Rational Rose.
