Mihailo Mlinar graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade in 2004, at the Department of Sculpture, in the class of professors Vladimir Komad and Željka Momirov. He earned his MA in sculpture from the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad. His mentor was professor Mladen Marinkov. He is a member of ULUS and ULUPUDS. He has participated in over one hundred group exhibitions and seven independent ones.

He is the creator of the Open Atelier Night and Open Atelier Festival. He has received the following awards: 1st prize at the 2007 contest for the Serbian FA’s LAV Football Cup trophy. He won first prize in sculpture at the Portrait through Time exhibition at the NUBS gallery in Belgrade. He is the recipient of the ULUPUDS plaque. Since 2013 he has worked as a sculpture professor (docent) at Academy of Fine Arts. He has participated in numerous art colonies, symposia and workshops.
