D.A. Vladimir Alander was born in 1973 in Belgrade. He graduated from the Faculty of Applied Arts in 1999, majoring in Applied Sculpture in the class of Professor Zorica Janković, and obtained his PhD in 2023 at the Faculty of Applied Arts (module: Applied Arts and Design) with the topic “New Technologies of Form Design – Sculpture in Space” (supervised by Assoc. Prof. Goran Čpajak). Since 2010, he has been recognized as an independent artist, and he has been a member of ULUPUDS since 2019. He has pursued professional education in the field of 3D and 2D computer graphics, obtained an Autodesk Professional certificate for the 3D program Maya 2013 (Autodesk Maya 2013) and became a certified instructor for Autodesk Maya and Mudbox. In 2019, he obtained a license as an Autodesk Certified Instructor (ACI). Throughout his career, he has made professional contributions to various companies such as Kompani, Pixel3D, ATC Softline, Vis Studio, TV K21, TV BK, TV Košava, and TV Kristal. Since 2007, he has been active on virtual platforms like Second Life, Sansar, and Opensim. Since 1998, he has participated in numerous collective exhibitions in Belgrade, presenting sculptures, drawings, and video works. He has held seven solo exhibitions in Belgrade. He has also participated in and led several artistic workshops in the field of 3D printing and digital modeling. He is a recipient of several recognitions for artistic contributions at events such as Black Box and Umetnička kolonija “Tršić”, and acknowledgments from the Russian House.
Throughout his career, he has collaborated on various projects, providing equipment for contest works and digital presentations for colleagues and professors such as Professor Dragoljub Dimitrijević, Assoc. Prof. Zoran Ivanović, Assoc. Prof. Goran Čpajak, Assoc. Prof. Marko Lađušić, Assoc. Prof. Miroljub Stamenković, and expert associate in the sculpture department, Miloš Radenković, etc.
Currently, he is actively engaged in new technologies in the field of applied arts.
