Course objective

Mastering the advanced techniques of the basic programs included in MS Office suite – software for text editing, tabular calculations and creating multimedia presentations; introducing the students to the basic elements of graphics and image editing using Photoshop tools as the basis for design and graphic editing, preparing students for independent website creation, upload and maintenance, studying the theoretical basis and rules of design using HTML coding, JavaScript programming and web tools for visual internet presentation development according to the WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) principle.

Course outcome

The students will learn about the differences between raster and vector graphics, RGB and CMYK systems, formats for saving digital images, their characteristics and types of compression, selection and transformation of raster image and its elements, digital image tone correction, photo retouching, the basic building elements of a vector drawing, drawing using Bezier curves. You will learn about the basic building blocks of a vector drawing, preparing graphics for print or web publication, the characteristics of HTML and CSS, HTML tag and how it is written, uploading images, links, tables and other webpage elements, the elements of the CSS box model, float value and its use, positioning elements on a HTML page using CSS, DIV and SPAN elements, the types and ways of writing CSS descriptions, formatting images through CSS, conditional data formatting, the basic aspects of Excel environment.
