Course objective
Acquisition of methods and technologies necessary for projecting and implementing systems for processing and analyzing big data.

The students have theoretical and practical knowledge about the principles, methods, software tools, components and platforms for projecting and implementing systems for processing and analyzing big data.

Theoretical classes
- The main principles and methods of processing, browsing and analyzing big data
- Mobile, parallel and distributed databases and distributed processing of queries and transactions
- NoSQL databases
- Systems for managing and processing data flows and complex events
- Cloud computing and big data processing in a cloud environment
- Map/Reduce programming framework, Hadoop and accompanying open-source technologies for distributed big data processing
- Analysis, design and implementation of systems for big data processing
- Apps based on these systems

- Projecting and implementing components and systems for processing, browsing and analyzing big data; evaluation of this system on a real set of data and current application domains, through a set of laboratory exercises and projects.
