On May 19, the European University in Brčko, the European University “Kallos” in Tuzla, the College of Applied Studies for Management and Business Communication in Belgrade, and the Faculty of European Legal and Political Studies in Belgrade organized the eleventh international scientific conference on the topic “Humanity Facing the Challenge of Artificial Intelligence”. The aim of this scientific conference was to identify the dangers posed to humanity by the application of artificial intelligence, as well as potential benefits.
Dr. Velimir Dedić, a professor at ITS, participated in this scientific conference with his paper titled “Application of Machine Learning to the Problem of Internet Addiction in the Student Population“. Professor Dedić addresses the problem of internet addiction as an important element of the modern era in his work. Machine learning techniques can be applied to classify respondents, determine the degree of addiction, and assess the causes of addiction itself. The paper also demonstrates the application of clustering methods to identify significant characteristics of internet addiction.
We congratulate our professor on his participation in the conference and are proud that his scientific work has contributed to shedding light on this current issue.
