We are very pleased with the fact that this is yet another year in which we can boast about our graduates and their achievements, in terms of both career and professional development. According to a recent research, this year’s results surpass last year’s, i.e. as much as 93,15% of students are successful, out of which:

  • 85,48% are employed (in their area of expertise),
  • 7.67% have continued their education.

We are particularly glad about the fact that the skills acquired at ITS have enabled our graduates to obtain high positions in their area of expertise, i.e. IT.

According to the data provided by the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, the number of unemployed young people is increasing on a daily basis. More than 20,000 graduates are unemployed, while around 30,000 have given up on looking for work. Among those who are unemployed, there is a vast portion of young people with no work experience. One of the main reasons for this is an inadequate education system, i.e. one that does not enable people to respond to market requirements. The choice of school should, among other things, depend on whether it will secure employment and a profitable career.

An increased number of managers and entrepreneurs among ITS graduates

The largest portion of jobs is still reserved for programmers, designers and system administrators. This year, we have an increased number of graduates in positions such as project manager, team leader and other managerial positions, and there are also those who have ventured to launch their own business.
According to a Forbes list, the most sought-after and best-paid jobs are in IT – the career for which we educate our students:

  • Java programer
  • IOS developer
  • PHP programer
  • Softver inženjer
  • .NET programer

According to a job ad analysis, most jobs advertised on the Infostud website in 2015 were in the following areas: trade and sales, IT, administration and accounting, mechanical engineering and electrical engineering. This shows that PHP and JAVA programmers are still among the most sought-after professions.

In the first half of 2015, according to the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, the average salary of people working in computer programming and consultancy services was RSD141,986. It is no secret that this is one of the most desired and promising professions of today, which is a fact confirmed by the National Employment Service (NES). According to them, most programmers find employment straight away, which is why there is no waiting list.
An average salary of around €1,180, the possibility to find a job without having to wait at all, and many other benefits are just some of the advantages and reasons why more and more people are opting for IT. However, since the IT market is covered by just 40% and the employers are in need of quality IT employees, it has often been the case that our students find employment as second-year students, prior to completing their studies.
